Efforts against digital governance or e-governance started way back in the 2000s in India. Digital governance or e-Governance is the use of information and communication technology by the government to provide quality information and services to the country’s ecosystem in an efficient, cost-effective, and convenient manner bringing transparency and accountability in government functioning. Digital governance includes services and processes in any interaction between Government-to-government (G2G), Government-to-person (G2P), and Government-to-business (G2B). The digital infrastructure created over more than a decade helped the government support the citizens by transferring USD 7 billion benefiting more than 200 million households in the country during COVID 19 crisis.
